Mission
To sign up as mercenary guards to the merchant caravan of Chevalier Pierre Bouvier of Chartres, observe who he meets, what is said, who he trades with and what is traded and report on all of this to us before he gets home.
Chevalier Bouvier is currently on his way to Seagate aboard a merchant ship in a Western Kingdom convoy. He is expected to disembark and recruit teamsters & guards (at approx. 10sp per day) to travel across the Sweet Riding to Brastor and then Novadom (approx. 335 miles at approx. 15 per day, 20-30 days). Then he is expected to be returning by ship.
Payment
  1. 5,000sp each OR 2,500sp each and one dose each of refined chaos from the Foxcourt Warpstone Alchemists
  2. 95sp per day, Teamsters, Wagon, & Guard fees

We meet up at the guild and discover a job suitable for our talents.

We wait for dwn and when the Chevaliers ship arrives we jostle for jobs and succeed in getting on the right wagon job. We sign on as a bulk group at a small discount (bonus to the organisers)

The Chevalier and friends move through town to Alphonses where they have a convivial lunch with people they are obviously familiar friends/business associates.

Late afternoon we depart Seagate, and the wagon train departs into the dusk.

7pm sees us pull of the side of the road, circle wagons and set camp enclosure for horses. We set camp.
Watches every 4 hours. Night Passes uneventfully.


4th Fruit 822 WK (D4)

A cloudy, cooler Autumn morning, head towards Arn's Ferry (AF). Arrive AF. Cross the river with others inc a bunch of herd guards headed for The Sweet Riding. Head South and then turn East and after a while and we find ahead is a huge wall 30ft wall across the plain, this is The Darkwall. We pass through the gates and head eastwards onto the plain. Travel east a few miles and around 7pm we make camp like previously. 4 going for a quick hunt before full dark and bring back some fresh meat. Night Passes.

5th Fruit 822 WK

A cool, cloudy looking day with late showers likely. We travel along the trail which is raised above the ground through magical means. Travel is uneventful till midday. We come to a small light woodland with some woodcutter crofts and pass lunch there. Celeste and Kharmul are positioned some 50ft ahead of the wagon. We pass the edge of the woodland just before dusk and set camp just beyond the woods. Trap are set. Around midnight a boy comes to the camp and talks about his family being attacked by zombies and the party not on watch. We go to help and a protracted chase through the dark woods follows. After much running around we finally corner the last of the enemy which includes Tibac who was a traitor in our midst who is dealt with for his crimes. We recover some items from the bandits who had access to items necromantic in nature - truly evil - even more so than a mind mage! Night passes.

6th-9th Fruit 822 WK

Travel across the plains, where we get to Carlston's switch where we find a wagon blocking the pass and so we head southwards. Night passes.

10th Fruit 822 WK

Get to Braegons Pass and we pass eastwards through the rough narrow pass. Night passes.

11th Fruit 822 WK

Come out of the hills and get to Tobintown. Our masters are seen talking with others in a code related to wine and cheese and weather which we note after deploying our subtle people to monitor them. Night passes.

12th Fruit 822 WK

Travel to Castle Brastor where the masters stay at the castle for the night. Night passes.

13th Fruit 822 WK

Depart and head west and south - ending in Elm Tree Village. Night Passes!

14th Fruit 822 WK

Travel and Arrive in Westgate - but masters depart to a nearby farm before we get there. Once in Town we take some rest and quickly track down the masters and deploy our subtle people. We listen and hear more conversations about wine and cheese and weather. We match some of these to Church Knight numbers and local events of interest. THye leave to head to town and we ride ahead and get back to town to resume our roles. Night Passes!

15th-16th Fruit 822 WK

We travel south and up Gryphon pass. On the eve of the 16th we stay at a well met hostelry and Inn run by Dwarves. Night Passes.

17th-24th Fruit 822 WK

Travel southwards and through the hills and then swamp-side tracks before arriving in Novadom. We are let go in Novadom but we stay behind and with great subtlety watch the masters while they continue their suspicious activities. They stay the night in the Castle. Night Passes!

25th Fruit 822 WK

We watch them get on a boat due to take them northwards but note 4 other suspicious types departing on the same vessel.
